Question: How did you create an affordable artist studio?

Answer: My studio started when I purchased energy efficient windows at a company close out sale. That was my commitment to build. I contracted with a builder who sells portable cabins to build one much larger than their norm. I saved money by doing a lot myself. I had a slab poured, drew the design for permit approval, ordered the scissors trusses that would give me high ceilings. The builder came in and put the well-insulated building up in a week. In Madison a stand alone building is more economical than an addition on your house if you have the space.
